About Pharmaceutical and Technical Glycerin;

Areas of Usage;  Glycerin is a raw material used in many industries. It is used as a thickening agent, solvent and sweetener in foods. Is also used  during the production of tobacco products to retain moisture, in cough syrups and suppositories. Furthermore, it is used in many personal care and cosmetic products as it is a very good moisturizer for the skin. It nourishes the skin.

  • Properties ; Glycerin is an organic compound known as glycerol. It is a colorless, odorless, clear liquid at room conditions. It's soluble in water and alcohol.
  • Types/sorts can be classified as crude glycerin and refined glycerin. Crude Glycerin, is the glycerin , supplied to the market with going through no process after the production or processed under simple purification methods,  whereas refined glycerin is the glycerin, produced through the various advanced purification methods of the crude glycerin.

 Refined glycerins are examined in 5 groups depending on their technical features (such as  percentage of glycerin content, density, color, heavy metal limits);

Type 1: Analytical grade pure glycerin

Type 2: Chemical grade pure ( chemically pure-CP) glycerin

Type 3: Premium white glycerin

Type 4: Technical grade glycerin

Type 5: Nitroglycerin/ Dynamite Glycerin used in dynamite production

Nitroglycerin is the class of glycerin used for human consumption, including inhalation. (min. 99.5% glycerin)
